Swap BTC to CBTC on Bron
A Step-by-Step Visual Guide To BTC/CBTC swaps on Bron
Before You Begin
To ensure a smooth swapping experience, please make sure you have the following:
Bron Wallet: Ensure you have the latest version of the Bron wallet installed on your device
Sufficient BTC Balance: You will need enough BTC in your wallet to cover the amount you wish to swap, plus a small network fee
Important Notes
Two-Step Signature Process: The swap requires two separate signatures. The first signature initiates the swap, and the second signature accepts the CBTC deposit
Network Fees: A small network fee in BTC is required to process the transaction
BronSwaps: Bron uses Intents-based swap functionality, which enables users to convert BTC to CTBC using a decentralised infrastructure. You send BTC, you receive CBTC. If any part of the transaction fails, the user gets compensated immediately by the Intents smart contract. No value lost. No counterparty risk. No bridge custody.
Authentication: For security, you will be required to authenticate transactions using your preferred method. The screenshots in this guide use TouchID on an Apple desktop device but Bron allows you to create a passkey using your fingerprint, face, screen lock, or hardware security key and one-time passwords
Step-by-step guide
Set Up the Swap
Navigate to the Swap section in your Bron wallet, select the account you wish to use, and enter the amount of BTC you want to sell
The corresponding amount of CBTC you will receive will be automatically calculated based on the best available rate
Action: Review the details, including the exchange rate, network fee, and your remaining balance. Once you are satisfied, click the Swap button
Sign the Transaction Details
Once you have signed the transaction, the swap will begin processing on the Bitcoin network
This screen provides a detailed breakdown of the transaction you are about to sign, including the amount being sent, the network fee, and the amount you will receive
Action: Review the full transaction details and click Sign to confirm the withdrawal from your BTC balance
Monitor the Transaction Flow
The transaction flow screen allows you to track the progress of your swap in real-time
The process involves several steps, starting with sending your BTC and waiting for the CBTC to be received

Note: The estimated time for the swap is around 20 minutes, but this can vary depending on blockchain network congestion. You can safely close this window while the transaction is processing.
Acceptance Required Notification
After the initial processing is complete, you will need to accept the CBTC deposit into your wallet
Once the BTC has been sent and the CBTC is ready to be deposited, you will see a notification in your recent transactions list with the updated status of "Acceptance required"
Action: Tap on the transaction to open the acceptance screen.
